The Bloom Effect explores a simple, far-reaching question: how can the flow and release of energy help living systems create and sustain order?
01 · The central question
Life does not remain ordered by standing still. It exchanges energy and matter with its surroundings—constantly.
From sunlight feeding a forest to chemical energy driving a muscle, living systems maintain local structure while energy disperses into the environment. The Bloom Effect asks whether this relationship can be understood more deeply—and explored experimentally.

The project investigates whether directed energy export could be associated with measurable changes in order beyond the emitting device.
Differences can inspire better tests, but they do not prove causation. Replication, controls and independent measurement are essential.
03 · The first experiment · tap water
In June 2026, four samples from the water supply were prepared under different conditions: a control, a water turbine, a turbine with a 50 mW laser, and a turbine with a 200 mW laser. The samples were then sent for crystal-image analysis.
What the results mean today
Visible differences were observed in the submitted crystal images. They are exploratory observations—not yet proof of the hypothesis.
04 · Reported observations
The laboratory workbook records 50 classifications for each sample. The photographs below show the first recorded crystal series from each condition; they are examples, while the table reports the full classified distribution.

How the percentage above was calculated: “Beautiful,” “Inclined,” “Deformed” and “Simple Hexagon” were added and divided by 50. This combined percentage is a transparent summary calculated from the supplied counts; it is not presented as proof of an effect.
05 · First stream field test
After the tap-water experiment, the apparatus was taken into a natural stream for its first practical field test. The aim was simple: find out whether the available flow could generate enough voltage to activate the laser.

It demonstrated practical feasibility: stream flow powered the laser. No water samples from this field test were analysed, so it does not provide evidence of a change in water structure.
The larger vision
“May the world flourish again.”
The long-term vision is bold: to ask whether small, directed flows of energy can teach us something useful about how larger living systems sustain order. The work begins not with certainty, but with curiosity, transparent experiments and the willingness to test an idea.
